My Favorite Major - 5 starsMajor Phillip Moore has been jilted by his childhood sweetheart and his friends encourage him to get back into society and try to get past his broken heart and wounded pride. He attends a ball where he meets Amelia Pritchard. Amelia has come from Wales to stay with relatives to escape the man she jilted after finding out his true, evil character.
The jilted fiancé shows up at the ball, Phillip notices Amelia's distress and creates a diversion so she can slip away. He is intrigued and being the ultimate knight in shining armor, we wants to help her. They get to know each other, become betrothed and must deal with the villain. They must also convince Amelia's parents that her ex-fiancé isn't who they think he is.
Phillip is one of the best heroes ever. And Amelia is a lovely, doting heroine. She's not especially feisty or spirited, but she's not a doormat either as she's willing to stand up for what's right. But she's very sweet and will make Phillip a devoted wife. This is a well written book, with a well thought out, logical progression of events with a great cast of characters. I recommend this book to anyone who likes historical romance.

Russell and Tristan Avery are brothers. Russell's betrothed to marry Phoebe Greywood, but he continues his philandering ways and pays almost no attention to her. This bothers Tristan and he chides Russell for being a lousy fiancé. He takes pity on Phoebe and spends time with her himself. And you know where this is leading.....
I liked this book. Tristan is a great hero and Phoebe is cheerful and optimistic. There's lots of happy family interactions with secondary characters. Tristan's struggle with his feelings for Phoebe makes the reader feel very sympathetic, and Phoebe has put up with so much neglect from Russell that we root for them both to get their happy ending. Poor, clueless Russell....will he learn his lesson and mend his ways? Find out in the next book.....
To Catch a Captain - 3 stars
I'm not sure if i was bored with this storyline by the time I read the third book in the trilogy? There was a sameness about each book and how the hero seems to fall instantly in love but doesn't realize it for a while. This is generally a storyline that I like, but I probably shouldn't have read all three books in a row since they're so similar.
Bridget Kelly is sister of one of the characters from My Favorite Major. Russell's and Tristan's sister, Cordelia, invites Bridget to come and live with her as a guest. Russell is feeling low after the events from the previous book and welcomes the opportunity for a light flirtation with Bridget. And course this leads to more.... Can Russell commit himself to one woman and settle down? Will Bridget be the woman to tame his rakish ways?

Enjoyable read..
I enjoyed all three of Ms. Stone's books in this trilogy. My intention in getting a box set was because I only had time to read one book and would have two already loaded and saved. Instead, I read them back to back because I couldn't stop with just one, which I should have known would happen from reading other books by Ava Stone. All three were great reads though I think the last, To Catch a Captain, may be my favorite.
I very much enjoyed this series. Great to read as a stand alone series, but so much more enjoyable to read along side the scandalous series.
If wanting to read in line with the scandalous series, I would recommend reading the first 3 books of a scandalous series, then diving into the heroes returned series.
I'm glad to have discovered this author. great read for this genre
was just ok. I thought should of been better. romances were boring. the first one Philip was better them the other two. I enjoyed scandalous series n was expecting more.
These three stories were a nice wrap up with the series. It's nice to see them all get their happily ever after. My favorite in the series was Alex and Olivia story. So it was nice to see Philip get another chance at love. Recommend this trilogy and the scandalous series. I'm still rooting for Haversham too.)
Ava Stone is a wonderful, creative writer; she captures your imagination in a way few authors are capable. I love her stories about the ENGLISH Aristocrats and their lives. I gave this series 5 stars and recommend it to anyone who enjoys romance and quite a bit of mystery!! These books are addictive. ENJOY.
